Second Edition: Series Project

Here's the second part of my series project, I tried to continue to work on getting candid photos of people and objects in black and white.

  1. this is a strong draft. you are achieving authentic candids, and the choice to use b&w gives them a more universal, timeless feel. the cafe approach might be fun to re-explore. the one image of the figure looking at the wall (back turned) is an interesting & different kind of moment. it is less about expression/facial reaction and more about body language. it is more mysterious. maybe an approach to push harder in a whole draft? In the end, you will need to solve and edit the work as a cohesive group. keep an eye on your backgrounds. there are some images with distracting elements on the borders of the frame that fight your subjects for attention. be especially careful of bright/light highlights in the backgrounds.

  3. I really like how you captured all the images in this series of various facial expressions. The various portraits reveal different emotions based on the lighting and the angles. I also like how this series is in black and white.

  4. Great job! I think that these images are really successful and you got some good candids of people. The black and white effect really added to the images making them a lot stronger.

  6. I like all the photos. I think that picture 3 is not very candid, it looks like she is posing and smiling for the picture, but it is still a great shot of Kenna. nice job, overall!
